Gilbert Strang is a Professor of Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Honorary Fellow of Balliol College, of the University of Oxford, UK. His current research interests include linear algebra, wavelets and filter banks, applied mathematics, and engineering mathematics. Gilbert Strang is a professor of mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research focuses on analysis, linear algebra and PDEs. Gilbert Strang has been teaching Linear Algebra at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for over fifty years. His online lectures for MIT's OpenCourseWare have been viewed over ten million times. He is a former President of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and Chair of the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics.
